However, we're always looking for ways to encourage engagement, especially when inviting new users into the system, which is why today we're launching an improved Recommendations tool for learning admins to use to make sure their users are finding the right content at the right time.
At its core, a recommendation is simple: an admin selects a piece of relevant content and suggests it to a user. However, the work of a learning admin is rarely that straightforward: enterprises have new employees starting every day, each one with unique needs that need to be accounted for. How can you ensure that all new hires get the right content recommended to them to ensure they are given a great introduction to the company? What about employees that just changed roles, and could really benefit from some additional materials, such as a management course? How can a small team of learning admins hope to keep track when everything is constantly changing?
Set It And Forget It
That's why we created something better than just static, one-off recommendations. In Pathgather, a recommendation is a living, breathing entity, that continuously works to keep recommending content to employees at exactly the right time, so you don't have to. To achieve this, you can customize a set of filters for each recommendation to target exactly who they are looking for: new hires, users who have completed more than three courses, users with Python skills... the possibilities are endless! As long as the recommendation is active, it will keep matching users according to your filters, which makes it easy to keep track of your ever-changing user base. And to make sure everyone is getting the attention they deserve, admins can track the progress of each recommendation at a glance: who has received it, who has completed it, and more.

For users, recommendations are a great way to discover relevant learning content. Recommendations, both from admins and your peers, can now be accessed directly from your Pathgather profile, which has gotten a well-deserved facelift as part of this update. It’s now easier than ever to see all your content at a glance: recommendations, the courses you’re working on, and everything you’ve already completed. As always, you're in complete control of your learning on Pathgather, so you can choose what you want to tackle next and how you want to share it; this update just makes it easier to do so.
